Dr. Belsky has been practicing chiropractic since 1993, and co-founded Del Mar Chiropractic Sports Group in 1995. He has been the team chiropractor for the San Diego Chargers from 2001 until 2007 and has participated as the team chiropractor for many other sports teams and treated athletes of all ages. He specializes in sports and recreational injuries, with a focus on correlating patient lifestyle and occupation in the development of treatment and rehabilitation programs. Dr. Belsky is also certified by the state of California as a Qualified Medical Examiner. This authorizes Dr. Belsky, by the state of California, to perform medical examinations to determine if there is any disability caused by a work-related injury. Dr. Belsky utilizes physiotherapy and exercise in conjunction with chiropractic manipulation and mobilization to enhance recovery and performance. He finds that administering myofascial massage and stretching techniques to be helpful when manipulation may not be indicated. He also employs therapeutic exercise to strengthen an injured region to prevent recurrences.
To ensure that his patients get the very best of care, Dr. Belsky utilizes a team approach when it comes to diagnosis and treatment. When necessary, he refers patients to medical specialists and to strength training specialists. Dr. Belsky ultimately attempts to provide care that helps speed the recovery and prevent recurrences.
Dr. Belsky is married and has two daughters and lives in San Diego. He enjoys surfing, swimming, running and weight training. He also is a big football fan, particularly with the Chargers, of course.
