Marie is the second oldest of five children, born and raised in Vista, CA.  At a young age, she became interested in healing while in physical therapy for a broken arm from a gymnastics injury.  From then on, she had a one-track mind, to become a physical therapist.   After she graduated with a BS in Kinesiology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA, she decided to take a few years off to work before going to graduate school.  She moved to Chicago and became a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), and worked for over three years as a personal trainer and exercise physiologist.

She discovered acupuncture and Chinese Medicine after getting injured training for the Great Wall of China Marathon.  This injury was a turning point in her life.  She fell in love with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and was soon getting her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Chicago campus. After graduating, Marie had a private practice in Chicago before moving back home to San Diego in the winter of 2012.

As an acupuncturist and herbalist, Marie is very passionate about empowering her patients to take control of their health by educating them about health and wellness. She loves doing public speaking events on health, wellness, and healing. Her goal is to do a TED talk (or multiple) in the next few years.

In her free time, Marie enjoys painting (really all arts and crafts), cooking, yoga, and animals of all kinds.
